Celebration of International Youth Day Kicks off with a Dialogue with Ban Ki-moon

 This year’s celebration of the International Youth Day kicks off with a Global Interactive Dialogue session with Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Senior UN Officials and around 700 young participants connected from 5 different locations around the world: Belgium, Brazil, India, Lebanon and Nigeria, in addition to 600 participants who will be present at the UNHQ.Event details:The theme of discussion will be the UN initiatives for youth: “Uniting for Youth”. The Secretary-General will be sharing his initiatives for youth with the young participants, after which he will take their questions. A second segment of the event will be an interactive panel discussion with 4 UN Senior officials; Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, Executive Director of UNFPA, Ms. Laskhmi Puri, Acting Head of UN Women, Ms. Sima Bahous, ASG and Director for Arab States at UNDP, and Mr. Charles Dan, Special Representative on Youth and Social Inclusion at ILO.
